Steven Wilson Interview in Electronic Musician

Posted in Misc by David Mytton on February 18, 2009

SW appears on the cover of the current issue of US magazine Electronic Musician. The issue includes an in depth interview on the recording of “Insurgentes” and other topics. The interview is online, but the magazine features a 9 page spread which includes several photos not included on the website.

Some quotes include:

What does the album title, Insurgentes, mean?
Insurgentes Avenue is the longest street in the world…

Let’s talk a little bit about your studio. How big is the actual room?
My “studio” is not really a studio at all. It’s a computer…

There are a lot of textural sounds on Insurgentes. Did you use virtual instruments for those?
A lot of the instruments on the record that are more what I’d call in the sound-design area are actually guitars. They’re almost all guitars.
