Porcupine Tree New Album 21st September 2009(?)
Rumours have surfaced that the new Porcupine Tree album scheduled for this year will be released on 21st September “with the first previews planned in July”. This would coincide with the recently announced UK tour dates for Bristol and Leeds as well as supporting our own sources which suggest a summer press preview for the album.
The planned date of September with the accompanying tour dates is further supported by the news on the Porcupine Tree website in Dec 08 that the tour cycle would follow the release of the album.
During an in-store appearance in Cheltenham on Tuesday this week, Steven Wilson himself said that all the new material had been written and recording had indeed started on that Sunday 8th March.
Further information includes details on the content of a double album which is suggested to have a single 55 minute song on the first disc with the second containing many shorter tracks. This was originally a 35 minute song written by SW <a href="to be performed with the full PT band on the new album but as noted in a recent interview, has become a 55 minute song.

On the PT site, a new announcement was posted the other day.
Quoting: Two more shows have been added to PT’s European tour to promote the _September release_ of their new album.
Seems official, although the date wasn’t specified.
