Porcupine Tree The Incident Vinyl Edition
Tonefloat is pleased and honoured to house the vinyl edition. the incident is captured on three sides, with the additional tracks on side four.
Mastered from the original 24-bit audio files, the album will be out in two versions: a regular 180 grams edition in a gatefold sleeve, and a special edition that is limited to 2000 copies worldwide. This incorporates the two discs in separate picture sleeves, a superb 48-page 12inch book, and all of that housed in a custom printed PVC slipcase.
well its tonefloat so it will be amazing quality of packaging and audio reproduction as always.
again, prices at €40 plus postage seems rather step, especially with the weak £.but i think the one to go for here is the 2000 limited edition at €40 rather than the standard gatefold at €24,due to its additional packaging and content.
if its like tonefloats deluxe version of “fear of a blank planet” in the special outer housing then i wil very pleased.
prices are always high with toneflaot but you know what you are going to get and its always excellent quality.minimalist design, amazing photography from lasse holle i hope also with a booklet, poss the same as that in the cd special edition ?
a pricey time for all of us PT fans but as always SW never lets us down, unfortunately as a audio fan i always like to own the vinyl versions of all of the PT albums, and this tends to bring the total budget up everytime.nomatter what some say,you CAN tell the difference between cd and vinyl, esp if you have a decent hifi set up.PT music is such good quality that it deserves to heard on the finest quality hifi set up that you can afford.forget mp3 snippets or ipod rips, you need a good cd palyer and a top notch turntable.then YOU will tell the difference, mark my words.i used to think that cds were the best, but once you hear a good vinyl on say a rega P7 or P9 then you will never treat music formats the same, believe me !!!
but as i have a good hifi with turntable, ipod, sacd and a DVDA player then you are spoilt for choice but ultimately vinyl rules the roost.

i made pre-order of lmt. vinyl from tonefloat. (along with a bass comm. lmt.lp)
next day they refunded the money, with no reason. (via paypal)
afterwards, i sent a lot messages to tonefloat, crazy diamons and also to owner charles.
they didnt even write one word back.
i’m collecting and listening to PT since 10 years and it’s going worse to handle …..
regards from istanbul
hi there Milen,i got my special edition no problem,it maybe because they do not deliver to your area ?
did you check the delivery coverage ?
the general sound of this post is very odd,as i have used tonefloat for many, many years and have found charles to be the most friendy of business men i have ever come across.he had gone way beyond the “call of duty ” on many times for me.
so ,without knowing anymore than you have told us here,it does sound very out of character that this would happen.
did you pay the correct amount of postage ?
may i suggest that you explain more details as i find this very odd and NOT reflective of tonefloat at all.they depend upon customer service to exist.
but on the wider subject of the vinyl special edition, can i state that this is the best way ever to listen to the incident.with the whole of the incident spread over 3 sides of vinyl ,running at 18 x 2 and 19 x1,the whole “suite” was specifically written with natural breaks in the running order for the vinyl sides to be turned over.
i have found the natural time of listeneing attention to be around 20 minutes or so.
so ,overall the effect is like the good old days of listening to say, tales from topographic oceans where you could have a p..break every now and again, whilst turning over the vinyl.
this sound quality is without doubt (on a good system that is !)better than the cd and the packaging is fantastic, for once this IS THE BETTER VERSION to own.
top notch this time charles !
richard
p.s.
please milen, post more details as this sounds very odd to me.
well
there is no details. exactly as i wrote. definitely there is something charles is not telling me but at least i had to know what is it. they didnt respond and i bought vinlys from burningshed. : /
