Posted in Porcupine Tree by David Mytton on August 15, 2009

Porcupine Tree reveal the first video from their highly anticipated new album The Incident (in stores 14th September) exclusively with MUZU TV in the UK and Ireland this coming Monday (17th August) at 4pm.

The video is directed by Lasse Hoile, the man responsible for (amongst other things) the videos for Fear Of A Blank Planet and Way Out Of Here, the stunning visuals at Porcupine Tree shows, and the hardback book of photographs to accompany The Incident that comes as part of the limited deluxe edition.

Time Flies in its full 12 minute form appears as the central segment of the 55 minute title track of the album.

Head to here on Monday at 4pm to check out the video.

There will also be a competition to celebrate the launch of the album.

if anyone wants to get a legit copy of time flies on a cd then may i refer you all to the latest issue of “classic rock presents PROG”- issue 3.
in this issue there is legal sampler cd containing 8 prog tracks from various new albums/groups.one of them is track 7 “time flies”by P.T. edited down to 5 minutes 20 seconds,so the radio edit i assume.this is a freebie with this quarters issue.i played it yesterday and the quality is excellent.
as others have already mentioned time flies does vaguely recall sheep on animals by pink floyd, the chord structure the acoustic strumming and the ending guitar coda, all similar but not if you get my drift.it is certainly not a direct lift merely gives one the recollection of this classic track by floyd.
of course this is the edit and the original is over 11 minutes long so will have much more depth and more sections.but if you want to hear a decent version ahead of the album release then go to w.h.smiths and get a copy of PROG.
be ahead of the rest, hear it before any others, get in the know, also you will end up owning a very collectable little cd ,as i am sure many PT fans will want to own this in the future, as we all tend to be completists don ,t we !!!!!
so grab a bargain and the magazine is dam good as well, full of prog features,a dream come true for me !!
hope you all find this useful info !?!?!

I live in the US and I ordered this magazine from http://www.myfavoritemagazines.co.uk and it hasn’t arrived yet but they said 7-10 days and I ordered it last Monday so it should be in soon but besides Porcupine Tree on the CD there’s a feature on PT in the magazine along with Rush (main feature), Opeth, Roxy Music, Voivoid, Marillion, Queensryche, and Genesis guitarists Steve Hackett and Anthony Philips. Also if anyone can still get Issue 1, I also recommend that issue for PT fans as there is a Steven Wilson interview and review of Insurgentes.

Does this link work for anyone? I’ve tried a few times today and yesterday but get a message about video being unavailable on this site.

I believe it can only be viewed in the UK.
