Cover Version V

Posted in Bass Communion, Cover Version, Porcupine Tree, Solo by David Mytton on May 28, 2008

…is in production, as well as represses of 2, 3, and 4. They should all be available in early July, but please don’t mail Headphone Dust about them until then. The new CV is a bit more of an electronic treatment this time. Plus there is an SW original on there too, a new version of Well You’re Wrong, which was up on this page for a short while.

There are also some Bass Communion reissues due shortly, as well as 2 releases containing new Bass Communion music, more info over on the Bass Communion page. The SW solo album is still a work in progress, unlikely to emerge until early 2009, but there are some special guests lined up to contribute to it (you can guess some of them I’m sure). Finally a major PT live release is currently being mixed for release in the Autumn.

New Bass Communion CD and LP

A new Bass Communion CD and LP will both be released by Important Records in the US on 22nd July. The CD “Moltov and Haze” contains 4 layered guitar drone pieces, 2 noisy (Molotov) and 2 transcendently beautiful (Haze). The album will be issued in the by now familiar miniature card gatefold sleeve, and you can hear extracts from it on the Bass Communion MySpace page. The LP is a collaboration recorded with Mexican noise / improv group Pig in February this year – “Live in Mexico City” will be a highly limited vinyl only release of 500 copies in special screen printed sleeves.
