The DVDA audiophile 5.1 surround sound version of PT’s acclaimed The Incident will be released in March, and is available to pre-order now from the PT Store. This edition features the 5.1 mix of the album in advanced resolution/MLP lossless 5.1 surround, DTS 5.1 digital surround sound, and 24 bit stereo, and also includes the videos for Time Flies and Octane Twisted, a 30 second TV spot, and a photo gallery set to exclusive instrumental mixes of Black Dahlia and Flicker. In the meantime Steven Wilson “Cover Version VI” box starts shipping later this week. This is a one time only pressing in this boxed format, and to date 70% of the copies are sold on pre-orders, but you can still order it from Headphone Dust or Burning Shed.

Cover Version VI pre-order

Cover Version VI is now available to pre-order and will begin shipping from 15th February. This will be the last in the series of CD singles featuring a cover version and an original. The single comes in a special limited edition box which contains CV6 in a picture sleeve as well as empty picture sleeves for all of the previous singles too (note that it will NOT contain the first 5 CDs, you have to have them already in order to put them in to the sleeves provided in the box!) The box also contains a booklet of drawings of SW by Hajo Mueller. You can pre-order now from Headphone Dust. It will also be available from Burning Shed later today (monday).

Cover Version VI

Headphone Dust will soon release the newly recorded Cover Version VI single (but please don’t write in trying to order it yet). This will be the last in the series of CD singles featuring a cover version and an original. In the meantime you can listen to the second track from the single on MySpace page now – of course as always the cover version itself will remain a secret until the CD single is actually released. The plan is for there to be a limited edition box which will house not just CV6 but all of the previous singles too, complete with a picture sleeve for each one. ToneFloat will also release CV5 and CV6 on 7 inch vinyl. More news soon….

Cover Version V now available to pre-order!

The fifth and penultimate in the series of Steven Wilson’s Cover Version singles is now available to pre-order from Headphone Dust. As with the first 4, the single contains a surprise cover version and an SW original, the original this time being a reworked version of a song previously heard on the SW MySpace page, “Well You’re Wrong”. The previous 4 cover version singles are all still available and there is currently a special offer to get all 5 for £15. Any single Cover Version CD (including the new one) is now at the reduced price of £3.50.

The series is planned to conclude with Cover Version 6 (not recorded yet so don’t ask when!), which will come in special packaging to house all of the singles.

Headphone Dust also have copies of the recently released Bass Communion / Freiband 3 inch CDR “Haze Shrapnel” issued by Frans De Waard’s MOLL label. This is priced at £3.00. For more info on this release see the news item below.

The first 4 cover version CD singles are now all repressed and back in stock at Headphone Dust, with a special offer to buy all 4 for the price of 3. Cover Version V will be released in early July.

Cover Version V

…is in production, as well as represses of 2, 3, and 4. They should all be available in early July, but please don’t mail Headphone Dust about them until then. The new CV is a bit more of an electronic treatment this time. Plus there is an SW original on there too, a new version of Well You’re Wrong, which was up on this page for a short while.

There are also some Bass Communion reissues due shortly, as well as 2 releases containing new Bass Communion music, more info over on the Bass Communion page. The SW solo album is still a work in progress, unlikely to emerge until early 2009, but there are some special guests lined up to contribute to it (you can guess some of them I’m sure). Finally a major PT live release is currently being mixed for release in the Autumn.

Cover Versions Repressed

In preparation for the 2 remaining Cover Version singles, the final one of which will come in a box set to house all 6 CDs, Headphone Dust have repressed the previous 4 SW Cover Version CD singles, now packaged in plastic wallets instead of jewel cases. If you prefer, you can still order the CDs in plain jewel cases at no extra cost (note the postage rate may increase) so please e-mail us to request an invoice. Throughout January you can buy all 4 CDs for the price of 3 from Headphone Dust, so now is the time to purchase these special CDs as a gift for someone special! Cover Version V is expected to be released in 2008.
