KScope are issuing a 2 LP vinyl version of Insurgentes at the end of March, which also contains 4 additional tracks – Port Rubicon, Puncture Wound, Collecting Space, and Insurgentes (Mexico). Pressed on 180 gram vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve, this will be limited to 2,000 copies. It’s available to pre-order from the KScope webstore now. The red vinyl edition of the Harmony Korine 7 inch single is now sold out, but there are a few copies left in both black and white vinyl.

Burning Shed pre-orders of Insurgentes (CD/DVDA) are now shipping, earlier than the announced release date of 9th March (UK).

As noted on the KScope Insurgntes mini-site, the release dates for Insurgentes CD/DVD Regular Edition are as follows:

Harmony Korine, the first single to be taken from the album, is now available to pre-order from the Kscope store. The single is available on limited edition coloured vinyl (black, white or blood red – 1000 copies of each).

Lasse Hoile, the acclaimed director and long-time collaborator with Steven, has made a promo video for the single. You can check it out on the Insurgentes mini-site.

The mini-site also features clips taken from the forthcoming Insurgentes documentary. In the film Steven tests various ways to destroy an iPod and every week leading up to the release of the album snippets of the film shall be posted on the site, showing a different method of destruction ranging from hammers to shotguns to woodchippers. Insurgentes finally gets a full UK release on 9th March, and during that week Steven will be visiting some key independent record stores in London, Cheltenham, Cardiff and Bristol to sign copies of the new album. So if you would like to come along and meet Steven here’s when and where to do it:

A high quality, HD version of the Harmony Korine video from the Insurgentes album is now available on YouTube.

The video for “Harmony Korine” is now released on the UK website tiscali.co.uk. Enjoy! It’s in fairly low resolution at the moment, but the video will be available to view in higher resolution / quality soon.

A new mini-site for Insurgentes is now online at www.insurgentes.org. In addition to audio clips, a free mp3 and downloads, the site also features a remix competition. The remix that Steven judges to be best will be included on a future official Steven Wilson release. If you are looking for some inspiration, there are two new mixes from Engineers (Kscope’s newest act) and Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson) already available to stream on the site.

The first single to be taken from the album, Harmony Korine, is available to pre-order from the site. Harmony Korine will be issued as a limited edition 7 inch vinyl single in a choice of three different colours – black, white, and blood red, each limited to 1,000 copies. The single will only be available through the mini-site.

A video for Harmony Korine is currently being made by long time collaborator Lasse Hoile and will be streamed from the site as soon as it’s ready! Lasse is also putting the finishing touches to the Insurgentes documentary. Trailers for the film are also streaming on the mini-site.

The first single from Insurgentes will be released in mid Feb on 7 inch vinyl only. The A-Side is a remixed edit of album track “Harmony Korine”, and the B-side is non-album track “The 78″, which was briefly available as an untitled bonus track on the deluxe mail order edition released last November. The single comes in a choice of 3 colours: black, white, and blood red vinyl, all in very limited quantities (exact number of copies of each edition is to be confirmed). These are now available to pre-order from the KScope webstore.

As the release date of Insurgentes approaches there will much activity over the next few weeks, including the exclusive unveiling of the Lasse Hoile video for Harmony Korine (which will also be issued as the first single release from the album), downloadable remixes, and a remix competition. SW has been busy promoting the album with interviews and a series of playback events for press. The recent event in London has already been reviewed online by the music-news.com website (in the Spotlight section).

Newbury Comics over in the US now have a special pre-order offer, which includes a signed CD booklet. Please note that the US edition is slightly different from the European version in that it comes in super jewel case instead of the hardback digipack. Otherwise contents are the same. Order here.
